FUNCTIONAL TITLE: Electrical Engineer
JOB LOCATION: Camp As Sayliyah, Qatar
POSITION SUMMARY: Researches, plans, and designs of electrical systems for new building construction and building renovation projects. Coordinate customer's desire with needs and budget to determine feasibility of design approaches. Prepares or modifies reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and designs for project. Inspects construction activities to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, construction and safety standards. Uses (AutoCAD/Micro-station) computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
1. Plans, and designs electrical systems. 30%
2. Develop Statements of Work (SOW). 20%
3. Provide Independent Government Estimates (IGE). 10%
4. Use AUTO-CAD design software. 10%
5. Coordinate customer's desire with his needs. 10%
6. Inspects construction activities. 10%
7. Determine feasibility of design approaches. 10%
8. Performs other duties and assignments as required.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: Use of Computer and AUTO-CAD design software.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
1. Must be able to lift/push/pull 35-45 lbs.
Education: BSEE is required, as well as a Professional engineering license.
Experience: 5 years working experience as an Electrical Engineer.
Specialized Knowledge Required: Knowledge of the principles and practices of construction project management. Skilled in evaluating work performance of contractors and consultants for compliance with project plans, specifications and applicable laws, ordinances and policies. Knowledge of health and safety: the rules and regulations. Must be able to read and evaluate blueprints and technical schematics.
