Network Administrator (OCONUS)  
POSITION DESCRIPTION - Essential Job Functions and Reponsibilities Include:
This is a temporary Forward Deployment position to a hazardous location (Iraq or Afghanistan) with an expected duration of 4 - 6 months. This position is eligible for NJVC Hazardous Duty Pay (70%). This Network Administrator position will reside under the Engineering Operations Directorate on a Government contract, and will be matrixed to the Special Projects Organization (SPO) to directly support NSG Expeditionary Architecture (NEA) Crisis Requirements. This Administrator will be forward deployed to perform on-site technical duties on numerous projects/requirements being supported by the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Responsible for problem resolution, hardware maintenance, project implementations, and overall O & S responsibilities associated with maintaining an Ethernet network from a layer 2 and 3 perspective
• Provide on-site network administration support in the forward deployed location with direct customer contact and support to evolving crisis needs, presenting solutions, and supporting implementation
• Coordination with on-site customer and appropriate IT/IS peers for the scheduling, tracking and status of Authorized Outages (AO)
• Troubleshooting skills to include isolation of physical layer issues
• Well organized, accurate, with excellent interpersonal skills as well as a team player and able to take on challenging dynamic situations related to technical management
• Display good English written and verbal communication skills including requirements gathering and analysis, solutions development
• Logical reasoning, troubleshooting and creative problem solving skills
• Experience in the administration, testing, debugging and troubleshooting of networks with a variety of network peripherals to include routers, switches, and fiber cable on TCP/IP networks
• Responsible for working problem reports, assessing engineering orders, and implementing assigned engineering orders
• Working a 12x7 schedule for the duration of the deployment
• Technical Collaboration with the NEA Crisis Team (CONUS) for all issues to include design through implementation and for Reach Back support needs

DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
• Prefer at least one year of experience on our Government customer's networks
• Prefer a minimum of 3 years of networking experience
• Ability to coordinate between external organizations
• Working knowledge of Cisco routers and switches
• Knowledge of GRE tunneling
• In depth knowledge of routing and OSPF
• General knowledge of satellite communications is helpful
• Open/Close trouble tickets, Infrastructure Service Request, RSR’s, and Engineering orders
• Experience with TACLANE encryptors
• Provide monthly crypto key loads
• Knowledge of network management systems with emphasis on HP Openview, eHealth, and CiscoWorks

Job Requirements
Education, Skill, and Experience Requirements:
• This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or Computer Science, and 3-6 years experience or equivalent work experience
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills; be able to handle multiple tasking
• The candidate must be able to work in a matrixed organizational structure
• Should be familiar with our Government Client's organizational structure
• Should have technical experience in order to effectively speak to technical and design issues where required
• Working knowledge of LANE
• Should have experience of routing technologies to include OSPF
• Desire BGP and MPLS knowledge
• Should have working knowledge with the following equipment or equivalent:
o Cisco (CCNP) or CCNP level experience
o Marconi
o Foundry
o General Dynamics Fastlane/Taclaneso L-3 HAIPEs

- If the candidate has no security related certification: assign Security+ or SSCP certification training.
- If a candidate has the following security certifications (that meet DOD 8570 criteria for IAT Level II), no additional security certification training is required for this position: GSEC, Security+, SCNP, SSCP, CISA, CISSP, GSE, and SCNA.
* Upon hire, employee has 6 months to obtain primary certification and is required to maintain certifications while functioning in this position.
