Job Description: Qualified candidate will develop computer systems specifications that address customer requirements and that fit with system architecture standards, establish and document system parameters and formats, ensure hardware and software systems compatibility and coordinate and/or modify system parameters in terms of existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities, revise existing systems and procedures to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage. Additional job duties include: Maintaining installed systems on a daily basis in a fully operational mode; providing informal training to the Government representatives or their designees on any aspect of the software of system operation; identifying, collecting and evaluating all applicable data relating to problems that reduce or hamper system performance and efficiency; analyzing system failures and resultant log or core data; at the Government'™s request, participating in feasibility studies on hardware/software developments / enhancements; and testing and integrating code resulting from software designs.
Required Skills: Position requires the ability to understand software systems and development as well as the ability to translate business requirements into software solutions. Good interpersonal communications skills and the ability to work well with a diverse user population are critical to success in this job. Previous experience is essential and must include practical working knowledge with the following: SQL Server, .NET, C/C++/JAVA, MS, Oracle, Linux and Windows (current and older versions).
Desired Skills: Capability of training users in complex topics, presenting to an internal audience. Independent problem solving; self-direction. Ability to work successfully in a diverse environment with Government, Military and other contractors.
Training and Education Required: BS in Computer Science or a related technical field and 2 years of relevant work experience. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S SECRET Security Clearance
