| TIS/AIS Tech |
|
Repairs simple electronic equipment and takes test readings using common instruments such as digital multimeters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes. Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician. Performs organizational level repair when supervised. Loads pods on aircraft, performs corrosion control on pods and serves as data entry point for pod data. Documents maintenance actions in IEMS.
Reports to:
Assigned Senior Technician or Supervisor.
Minimum Experience Requirements:
Electronics maintenance experience in the following areas: Digital/analog signal processing Radar theory Electromechanical devices Video signal processing and recording Communications (multiplexer equipment, VHF, UHF, microwave, fiber-optic) Digital/analog computer systems DC power supplies Test equipment Optical equipment RF signal processing Antennas Ability to speak read and write English. Education Requirements High School diploma or equivalent Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy 'C' School or vocational school with formal training in the field of electronic equipment maintenance and equipment manufacturer training. Physically able to assist in lifting/carrying AIS pods. Physically able to perform maintenance on TIS including loading/unloading equipment from helicopters; able to climb/descend towers carrying equipment. Tower climbing training. Possess a valid state Driver's License. Security Clearance Required.
