| Senior Data Storage Engineer - EMC |
|
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Storage Engineer is responsible supporting the engineering and architectural design and support of storage-based solutions used in a datacenter environment. This includes support for installation, testing and configuration of the storage architecture(s); storage area networks, network attached storage, and enterprise backup tools. Support design and administration of programs to include policies, standards, guidelines, and a viable quality assurance process for disaster recovery. Responsibilities include management and administration of storage environments to include real-time monitoring of storage health-status, performing authorized changes resulting from capacity management, identification and resolution of enterprise-wide hardware/software issues, and performing vendor escalation activities (as required).
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
•Minimum of 8 years of related experience
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Fluency in English)
•Experience implementing and managing enterprise class SAN, tape libraries, storage resource management software, etc.
•Demonstrated hands on experience with enterprise storage and backup/restore components including EMC Symmetrix, CLARiiON, ECC, SRDF, Timefinder.
•Demonstrated experience and expertise in configuring fibre channel fabric and setting up LUNs.
•Demonstrated experience managing servers in an enterprise environment using UNIX & MS Win2K.
•Self starter that is able to work both independently and in a team environment.
•Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent.
•Minimum of 5 years experience in the administration of enterprise class data storage systems.
•Must hold Active Top Secret clearance. SCI preferred.
•U.S. Citizenship
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
•One of the following if not held, then obtained within six months of hiring:
oGSEC, Security+, SCNP, SSCP Security + Certification
