Travel: 25% - defined as up to one month out of a quarter
This Field Engineer position is in support of a Government Solutions customer in the Northern Virginia area. Work will include supporting a network engineering team and telephony engineering team on field deployments(WAN and LAN) equipment, in addition the person will help troubleshoot incidents on the network up thru the IP Layer. The deployments will include installing hardware and software per engineering specifications, infrastructure support by running/testing fiber and ethernet cable down to the desktop plus setting up the desktop and telephony equipment(VOIP, Digital, etc). Travel is mostly CONUS but some OCONUS could occur. (25-35% travel.) Required Skills, Experience, and Education: Experience in installing Enterprise Level WAN and LAN equipment(Cisco 454, CISCO Routers 2800 & 3600, Switches 2950s, Juniper Firewalls, etc), Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in Voice(PRIs, SIP, VOIP) Telecommunication(installs) is a plus(Avaya, SONUS) Experience in installing, terminating and testing inside plant Cabling (CAT5, Fiber, Ethernet) up to OSP demarc is a must. Experience in test equipment(Sunset, T-Berd, etc.) - Willingness to work in Northern Virginia

Candidates must be a US Citizen and have a current Top Secret security clearance with a full scope polygraph.

Required Clearance: TS with full scope polygraph

Desired: Network+ and/or CCNA Certifications is a plus.
